The snow-clad mountains, crisp air, and clear sky blue will greet you as arrive in Ladakh! Your journey here will be filled with monks chanting mantras in monasteries, the colorful landscape in every direction, and local experiences that will create an experience unlike any other.
Arrive at Kushok Bakula airport Leh situated at 3500m altitude. Meet our representative at the airport who will transfer you to your hotel in Leh city 3 to 4 km. On arrival, the hotel will welcome you with a warm drink. To allow your bodies to acclimatize to the high altitude, the first full day will be dedicated to rest. There will be an easy walk in the evening to show you Leh bazaar. Overnight in the Hotel.
Today we will take you for a Fullday driving tour to some of the most important and beautiful monasteries and palaces. All located along the Indus River, we will travel by car to see places like Shey Palace, the former summer palace of the Ladakhi kings, Thiksey Monastery, home of one of the most beautiful statues of Maitrey Buddha, and Hemis Monastery, the largest and the richest monastery in Ladakh. In the evening you will return to Leh for your own leisurely evening. Overnight at the hotel
The morning after breakfast you will be driven to Likir (58 km away) where your trek will begin!! Although the distance is short, the route is warm and without any shade or water. We will traverse two passes along the route! From Likir the route heads west up to Phobe La (3580m) and beyond this lies Sumdo village. The trail goes steadily upwards till you get to Chagatse La (3630m). Across the pass is the village of Yangthang (3630m) where we camp for the night, next to a stream. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Overnight: homestay
After breakfast, we will trek down towards Rizong Monastery south of Yangthang. It will take around 2 and a half hrs. From there, we will visit Tya Monastery where we will meet the driver. He will take us to Alchi where we will visit Anchi Choskor and then return to Leh.
